Suanne Davis Roueche Faculty Scholarships

Faculty members at NISOD member colleges who would like to attend NISOD’s International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, but lack the financial means to do so, are encouraged to apply for a Suanne Davis Roueche Faculty Scholarship. Five scholarships are awarded each year.

About Suanne Davis Roueche

Suanne Davis RouecheThe Suanne Davis Roueche Faculty Scholarships are named in honor of the late Suanne Davis Roueche, who served as NISOD’s director from 1985 to 2000. Under Suanne’s brilliant leadership, membership went from 50 institutions to 750 and conference attendance went from 152 participants to approximately 2,000 upon her retirement. Through the Suanne Davis Roueche Faculty Scholarships, Suanne’s impact on community and technical colleges will be long lasting.

Criteria and Terms

  • The scholarship covers travel to the International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence (May 24-27, 2025, in Austin, Texas), which includes:
    • Up to $400 USD toward travel to Austin, Texas;
    • Up to three (3) nights lodging (Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights only);
    • One (1) complimentary conference registration.
  • A total of five (5) faculty scholarships will be awarded, and scholarships are limited to only one recipient per college.
  • Applicants must not be a previous NISOD conference scholarship recipient.
  • Applicants must be faculty members from NISOD member colleges.
  • Applicants must not be currently registered for the 2025 International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence.
  • Applicants must provide all materials requested by NISOD by the deadlines outlined in their award letter.
