NISOD Adds Annual Virtual Conference Starting Fall 2021
Austin, Texas, June 30, 2021–NISOD is pleased to announce the addition of an Annual Fall Virtual Conference to its outstanding portfolio of event offerings!
Feedback received after NISOD’s recent virtual conference, held in April 2021, made it clear that there continues to be a need for affordable, virtual professional development, even as attending face-to-face events becomes possible again. Responses received include:
“The virtual conference was so affordable that my institution paid for everyone to attend, while in normal years, it’s unable to cover our registration and travel costs [to the face-to-face conference], even for individuals making presentations.”
“Please keep offering an annual virtual conference for those of us who cannot be away from our students for multiple days. Being a one-person office, students’ needs are my top priority!”
“If you have a desire to continue learning from your peers and to share your insights into techniques and processes that work for you and your institution, you must attend this conference! The variety of presentation topics is unmatched, and you are only limited by your own imagination!”
NISOD’s Annual Fall Virtual Conference, which will be held each October, will bring together full- and part-time faculty members, librarians, and student support services personnel to share best and promising practices that increase student success at community and technical colleges. This new convening provides a convenient opportunity for campus allies to thoroughly examine what it means to meet the needs of 21st-century students.
The Annual Fall Virtual Conference will complement NISOD’s Annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, the next of which is May 28-31, 2022, in Austin, Texas, by being another first-class, low-cost convening available to community and technical college educators. The Annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence is the definitive gathering of community and technical college educators passionate about teaching and learning. Over the years, NISOD’s annual conference has provided faculty, administrators, and staff with the resources, ideas, and solutions that drive excellence in all areas of community and technical college campuses.
