Tacoma Community College Wins Regional Award for Website
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 7 recognized Tacoma Community College with a Medallion Award for its website. The award honors excellence in design and communication at community and technical colleges. TCC is a member of NCMPR District 7, which represents Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Yukon Territory.
Tacoma Apartments Successfully House Homeless Students
Many of TCC’s homeless students have found a home at the Highland Flats apartment complex after the owner made an agreement to reserve 50 units for TCC students. The college is giving good grades to the partnership between the apartments and the school, which provides the students with a place to stay so they can concentrate on their studies.
New Dean at TCC Gig Harbor Started Her Education There
It was a homecoming of sorts for Olga Inglebretson, who took over last year as dean of the Gig Harbor campus of Tacoma Community College. She graduated with an associate degree in paralegal studies in 2006, then went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Evergreen State College in Tacoma. Recently, she completed her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Washington, Tacoma.
