Change Is Coming to the NISOD Excellence Awards Dinner and Celebration

Each year, NISOD Excellence Award recipients are recognized during the Excellence Awards Dinner and Celebration at our International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence. The celebration is a night centered on honoring faculty, administrators, and staff for the extraordinary things they do on their campuses, for their students, and for the communities in which they live and work.

This year, the Excellence Awards Dinner and Celebration will usher in a new celebration format, one that develops a deeper sense of recognition for the Award recipients doing remarkable work. In the past, Excellence Award recipients were donned with their Excellence Awards medallion by a colleague or family member during the dinner. Starting this year, Award recipients will be individually recognized on stage at the event, similar in style to a graduation ceremony.

“NISOD is implementing the new format to provide Excellence Award recipients and their families a more personal, engaging, and memorable experience,” said Edward Leach, NISOD’s executive director. “However, while the format will be different, our unchanging goal is to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of Award recipients.”

This enthusiastic and inspiring fete brings together more than 1,200 individuals from across the world and is open to all registered #NISOD2019 conference participants.
