Mountain View College became a NISOD Member in 1996.
Why is Mountain View College a NISOD Member?
NISOD provides excellent resources that help MVC administrators, faculty, and staff remain current in research, obtain necessary professional development, and stay abreast of the ever-changing world of leadership, teaching, and learning. MVC’s NISOD membership also provides our faculty and staff with opportunities to attend and facilitate workshops designed to develop their teaching, learning, and leadership skills.
Which NISOD benefits does Mountain View College use the most and how?
Mountain View College employees frequently use the NISOD monthly webinars. These webinars focus on best practices, new teaching strategies, innovations, and trends in education. Also, every year Mountain View College submits the names of outstanding faculty and staff to be recognized as NISOD Excellence Award recipients and to attend NISOD’s annual conference.

Mountain View College’s Dreaming for Success Center
Mountain View College’s Dreaming for Success Center was established in the spring of 2018 to provide resources and support to students at MVC. This innovative center helps support student success by serving as a resource for international students and for students identified as Dreamers—Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The center enhances the college experience and promotes civic and community engagement. The Dreaming for Success Center also acts as a hub for multicultural and international programs and the Mariachi program.
Increased Enrollments at MVC
During the fall 2017 semester, Mountain View College’s enrollment broke the 10,000-student mark for the first time. Historically, enrollment tends to drop during the spring semester at most colleges, but Mountain View College actually saw enrollment increase for the spring 2018 semester. In fact, MVC had more students enrolled in the spring semester than it had in the fall semester. The enrollment increases demonstrate that Mountain View College is bringing to life its mission of empowering people and transforming communities.
