NISOD-ELI signing photoAustin, Texas, May 31, 2017 – The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) announces a partnership with the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI) to encourage an entrepreneurial mindset across community and technical colleges.

With a focus on student success, NISOD is a membership organization dedicated to providing high-quality programs, professional development, and thought leadership for community and technical college faculty, administrators, and staff.

The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI) is a global thought leader dedicated to expanding human potential through entrepreneurial mindset education, professional development, and thought leadership. ELI serves community and technical colleges around the world and is the creator of the Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs, which focus on cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset for student success, workforce development, and leadership development.

“An entrepreneurial mindset is critical for innovating and leading in the ever-changing, resource-constrained environment of higher education,” said Dr. Edward J. Leach, NISOD’s Executive Director. “Partnering with high-quality organizations like ELI is one of the best ways for NISOD to provide new opportunities at lower prices to our member colleges, especially during these times when they’re experiencing decreasing resources.”

As part of the partnership, faculty, administrators, and staff at NISOD member colleges will receive a $175 discount on public Ice House Facilitator Training offerings, which certify participants to facilitate Ice House Entrepreneurship Programs. The Ice House Program is an experiential, problem-based learning program designed to inspire and engage participants in the fundamental aspects of an entrepreneurial mindset.

ELI Founder Gary Schoeniger is the co-author of the program’s companion text, Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons From an Unlikely Entrepreneur, a powerful and compelling story that captures the essence of an entrepreneurial mindset and the unlimited opportunities it can provide.

“The power of entrepreneurial thinking reaches far beyond business creation,” ELI Founder and CEO Gary Schoeniger said. “Entrepreneurship is a mindset; a framework for thinking and acting that can empower community college faculty members, administrators, staff, and students to succeed. And, in today’s rapidly changing, highly-complex world, the need for entrepreneurial thinkers at all levels of society has never been greater.”

ELI President Bree Langemo said, “ELI works to build meaningful partnerships with organizations where there is mission alignment. NISOD is one of ELI’s signature partners, and we couldn’t be more pleased to partner with such an exceptional organization that serves community and technical colleges.”
